Could I write anything worth reading? I read a lot of blogs. (Probably too many; you're better off if you don't contemplate how much time I spend reading.) In all the blogs I read one recurring message is "you should blog". I could name names but it would be a terribly long list. In the back of my mind I've always considered giving it a try, but always backed off, fearing I lacked any insight worth publishing. Coupled with the knowledge of how slowly and painfully I write I've never given the thought a second chance. Well, doubts be damned: I'm starting a blog.
That's all fine and good to say but I need something to write about. Many of the blogs I most respect are highly technical so I'm happy to follow in their footsteps. I learn about code in school. I write code for a living. At least I'll be discussing a subject with which I'm familiar. Of course, there's still the open question of what, exactly, to discuss. That will just have to wait for another day.

I actually wrote this in January. It took me three months to actually starting doing something and another month to write the blog engine on which my blog is running. Well, it's done now. All that's left is to keep posting!
